Learn how to play
The Game Code is Club Utah’s team development system designed to teach players how to apply their individual skills in real game situations. Through guided instruction in spacing, off-ball movement, shot selection, team defense, and decision-making, athletes build basketball IQ and learn how to play the game the right way. Players gain access to The Game Code by joining a Club Utah team — where these concepts are taught and reinforced in practices, scrimmages, and competitive play. If your player is ready to go beyond drills and learn how to truly play the game, this is where that journey starts. Learn more our teams and how to join our program.
Building a foundation
The Skill Code is Club Utah’s core basketball training program focused on building the essential individual skills every player needs to succeed. Through structured, progressive training in ball handling, shooting, footwork, passing, and finishing, players develop the technical foundation to perform at a high level in any game setting. Athletes gain access to The Skill Code by enrolling in one of our skills program classes — where these fundamentals are taught, refined, and reinforced weekly. Whether your player is just starting or looking to level up, this is where long-term development begins. Learn more about our training options and how you can join the program.
PROGRESSIVE DEVELOPMENT
Finding a team that’s right for you
Learn the game and compete at a level that helps you grow. Academy teams are perfect for players who love the game, are ready for more, but aren’t quite ready to take the dive into full comp basketball. We will provide them with the tool to grow and level up.
When you are ready for a more competitive level of basketball you will be able to join one of our comp teams. These teams will receive same level of player development with the addition of competing in high level leagues and tournaments.

TRYOUT Q&A
Q: What if I don’t make the team? What if there aren’t enough players at my level to form a team?
Answer: If we don’t have enough players to form a full team, or we feel the athlete would benefit from more training before joining a team, we will offer them the opportunity to join our skills training classes. These classes are aimed at developing a player’s basketball skills so they can be ready to play on a team and compete in games. They are also for athletes who want to develop their skills to the next level.
We get new players wanting to join our club all the time, and with the work athletes put in during skills training, it won’t be long until they can join a team.
Q: Who are tryouts for? Do I need to have previous basketball experience?
Answer: At Club Utah, we specialize in player development, with an hour dedicated to skill development two days a week. Our Academy teams are players at a division 3 or 4 level. Our club teams are at divisions 1 and 2, with some elite teams and players who may have the opportunity to travel.
Q: What is tryouts like?
Answer: During tryouts, coaches asses athletes’ skill levels in two ways; foundational basketball skills and their ability to compete. We then form teams based on skill level and ability to best aid in player and team development.
Q: When will I know if I made a team?
Answer: You will be contacted within 48 hours of your tryout.
Q: How much are club dues?
Answer: The base cost to be on a team is $180/month This will cover the cost of 2 skills training sessions each week, 2 team practices, and online training. If you play for a team that has longer practices, then your monthly dues will increase appropriately. League fees and jerseys are a separate charge. We operate on paid coaches and trainers to ensure you get the best bang for your buck!
Q: Where will I practice?
Answer: F5 Athletics and other location gyms. Exact days and times will be given when you receive your offer letter
